Our Fairtrade Commitment

The Genesis

Nuri Farms was conceived not just as a business but as a catalyst for positive change in the arid and semi-arid regions of Kenya and Tanzania. The founders envisioned a harmonious partnership with local farmers, a collaboration that would not only source premium products but also uplift communities, nurture sustainable practices, and create a fair-trade value chain that echoed through generations.

Building Partnerships

The journey began with a commitment to building meaningful relationships with farmers in the arid and semi-arid regions. Nuri Farms engaged with beekeepers, goat farmers, mango cultivators, and poultry rearers, recognizing their intrinsic knowledge of the land and the valuable resources it bore. The objective was clear; create a collaborative ecosystem where everyone involved could thrive.

Immediate Payment and Fair-Trade Practices

One of the founding principles of Nuri Farms was to break away from the traditional delayed payment systems and introduce immediate payment upon product acquisition. This ensured that farmers received fair compensation promptly, enabling them to invest in their farms, families, and communities without the burden of financial uncertainty.

The fair-trade practices embraced by Nuri Farms meant that every transaction wasn’t just a business deal; it was a commitment to ethical sourcing, transparency, and mutual benefit. The direct sourcing approach eliminated middlemen, ensuring that the fruits of labor were equitably shared between the farmers and Nuri Farms.
